I am privy to a couple who tested NEGATIVE for Corona Virus torment on the Social Media. For obvious reasons I am not disclosing anything about why they were asked to go for a test, but they VOLUNTARILY WENT for a test.

I have no clue how Wassap group got to know about their visit to the hospital. However the cacophony started. They were accused of treason – well almost. Each of the 1000 members had a view on what they should do. Ginger, turmeric,…all were offered as sure cure. Ok a little exaggeration here, but yes everybody had a view. You know how groups work don’t you? 25 active people dictate what happens in that group. I am not a member of that group but have access to what is happening in that group in a  friend’s phone.

Now that they have been tested NEGATIVE people want the following from them –

a) a quarantine (of course)

b) no servant to visit their house (for 15 days to start with),

c) no social interaction,

d) no supplied of rations

I am seriously wondering how a couple in their middle age (not keen to tell you their ages) are expected to live on love and fresh air for 2 weeks. Beats me.

How would we react if we were the impacted person?

Do spare a thought.

Who will provide YOU with the food?

If it is an elderly couple say in their 70s who will do their household work?

I heard that the hospital that they went to was so bad – they nauseated. You too will.

How are your neighbors / siblings supposed to react?

Most of us know that our kids do not listen to us, but we think others kids listen to them.

Look how a girl (24 year old kid when she is our own) is being villified for running away from Bangalore to Agra – via Air, rail, and autorickshaw. Did she ask her parents? her husband? her in laws? We do not know but we are willing to say – tons of things about her.

I can perfectly understand what must have happened. Can you? what if she were your daughter? or daughter in law? of a friends daughter? what would have you done?

Guys stop this Villification. Go and help people who are suspected. At least reach them food, milk, essential supplies.

it is not the end of the world. They have not committed a crime against anybody.

Remove your shoes. Wear their shoes. Walk a mile. Then post / re-post some villification message.

I know one affected couple, and hence this angst.
