I wrote about using your wealth for your physical well being – exercise, sleep et al.

Today I am suggesting/ writing about emotional / spiritual well being. First of all remember that being religious is optional, but being spiritual is a Must.

Sorry to remind you about our old Vedas. A businessman should strive for more – he has to create jobs, but if you are a professional change your focus to teaching and training – create people capable of taking up those jobs. There is tremendous satisfaction in imparting knowledge, try to do it.

Earning money, investing, creating wealth, doing charity, imparting knowledge, gaining knowledge – SIP works in all these areas. Even in health it is SIP which works. A little at a time. Try it.

My last 3 vacations have been in a group where I knew only 1-2 people and found 5 new strangers – who are now friends. Yes they t….each me running, photography, life skills and I talk finance (barter, no GST!!). So having friends, creating new friends, taking time off to meet and keep in touch with old friends are all amazing emotional well being activities. Try it.

Joining groups – cycling, running, singing, health, spiritual,….will ensure that you live a useful life. It is important that once you are FINANCIALLY satisfied, your wealth should help you take time off for such activities. Sure if you are in your 30s this is difficult, but at least in your mid 40s you should start doing this..and accelerate this in your 50s.

I am not a very religious person – but no I am not an atheist either. I realize that you can chant your vedas, visit temples, mosques, churches, dargas, monastaries, ….without worrying about your caste, creed or religion. Make your choice, but be spiritual for sure.

Intellectual well being is about continually learning and connecting. I love to see the connection between happiness and anger control. Between running, eating, investing, and human living. You need to keep growing continually. You read about Buffett, you see Buffett’s portfolio, and you learn that he has many things which you DO NOT WANT TO COPY – his diet for example.

You meet successful doctors who have not managed their money well. You meet professors who have created a brilliant portfolio for themselves and their families… You understand that there is no pattern. That is intellectual growth.

go have fun with your money. Treat it like a slave, not like a scorecard.

  1. why are you sory about reminding vedas, this is a source of extreme knowledge which is getting forgotton, in fact pl. keep reming about the knowledge.
