I am under pressure to write a book on equities. Well, what is your view?

More importantly…what do you want to see in a book on equities?

Please put it on the comment section please…

  1. Sir,look forward for whatever comes from your desk. My two cents is to share what not to do with examples of accounting frauds in our country.than you

  2. There are lot of books out there.. really a lot. not to mention blogs and sites offering information. Unless, you have something to specifically cover for the readers, I would suggest not to write anything as a book.

  3. Subra sir,

    I prefer a chapter on
    1. analyzing a company on a continuous basis
    2. looking for red signals/change of fundamentals
    3. pattern recognition for stock picking
    4. split between debt and equity
    5. Diversification

  4. Debt is a whole different world.
It would be great if your book has the basics and also the nitty gritty details of choosing the right debt instrument.
Also, we need all the psychological biases we should avoid, with examples.
    Same for equity too.

  5. Dear Subra,
We definitely need a book on Equity investing from you. As someone mentioned in the earlier comments – there are lot of books, but there is no book that talks on portfolio construction, no information on when to sell a stock, how to rebalance a portfolio.
And above all we definitely need your take on it. There is no substitute for experience.
    Regards,
    Naveen

  6. We need it from you.
    – 2-3 chapters on identifying/screening companies, assessing whether overvalued, assessing management quality, etc.
    – Then case studies: your own experiences, stories you heard or observed in your long career.

    Essential themes:
1.) Ideas for those who are ready to take more risk to get rich, even if they lose. What do the real rich do to make more money. I have read this on some of your blogs.
2.) Ideas for those who have no time to track market. That is a huge population but they mostly do not accept that they are dumb regarding investing.
3.) Ideas for older people who want less risk.

I am sure it will be a bestseller.
