  1. Ever heard of the Lalu joke about building a bridge? He will show a non existent bridge to a foreign leader and say he built that bridge. Our infra companies are exactly the ones funding our politicians, so where did all the money go? right into the pockets of politicians. In TN, for every 1000 Rs govt allocates as per their books for an infra project about 300 Rs goes to the contractor to build and make profit and a cool 700 Rs to the politicians.
    Not just that, for a tender to be picked the contractor has to pay 30-40% of the tender value to politicians. These may sound outrageous but this is the reality of Indian infrastructure.
    ILFS has probably gone through this cycle and now exhausted. The likes of LIC’s money can be swindled via companies like these.
