Which are the successful habits of the rich which are worth learning?

  1. Focus
  2. Persistence
  3. Patience
  4. Client focus
  5. Gratitude

Lets concentrate on each one of them. I feel the toughest to learn is patience. It obviously takes time to learn patience!!

FOCUS: clearly you need to be focused on your goals. If your sights are on your goals, you will not see the obstacles that impede your goals achieving efforts!

Persistence: the journey to success is long and arduous. You cannot have your way all the time. When the chips are down, and you are feeling lost, you need to be persistent.

Patience: Successful people know that ‘Winners never Quit, and Quitters never win’. They have a lot of patience and they continue to plod on their journey. Small setbacks are taken in their stride and big set backs are handled by just changing the course of the journey. They show a lot of patience – I know of people who have held on to Franklin Prima Plus for about 20 years because they had confidence in the fund manager. I know people who held on to eternal bluechips like Hdfc and Asian Paints – but that was easy. You need patience to sit through bad markets. Patience is usually the answer to most of our problems. In fact patience is a virtue in almost all fields – Investing is just one of them.

Client Focus: Most of them are very focused on their client’s needs and requirements.

Gratitude: all of them have a great sense of gratitude towards all the people who have done good for them. They forgive easily if somebody hurts them, but remember ALL THE good..
