If you pay taxes honestly about 50% of what you earn goes off in various taxes – income, service, securities transaction, etc.

Now take away another 28% in housing EMI, then another 7% in building maintenance etc.

It means your government, and your house have taken away 85% of what you earn.

So the 15% that you are left with has to go long enough for you to provide for your current needs, children’s needs, parents needs and your own retirement needs.

So every paisa that you spend (which is part of that 15%!) has to go towards your goal….so that extra samosa, or that soft drink, or that McDonalds trip which goes to the waist takes you that much further away from your goal.

So take care of every rupee (nay paisa) that you are spending. Much of that expenditure has nothing to do with your goals!

ONCE YOU DO THIS, THE BIG GOALS TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES!

  1. Where is the life!!!! It takes one life to understand all your articles and implement!!! Do I get all my returns in my next life to live my life. Sorry I forgot do I get the next life first of all?

  2. beautiful advice!! The extra samosa, soft drink is not required in this life nor the next. Note the word extra. Live well within your means is the message.

  3. @Rahaman : Subra never said don’t spend other than your goal, but be mindful when spending….

Doesn’t matter if you slip once or twice, but not making that as a habit is what this artical is all about (correct me subra, if am wrong here)

So enjoy life today (in all aspect)….coz shayad kal ho na ho 🙂

  4. To earn well, is stealing (theft) a good idea? I think small scale stealing is really helpful to earn money without paying taxes. Otherwise, all the hard earned money is going as taxes to the govt, which is infact a waste. I am happy to pay tax, but I should get good service in return. Here in India, if I see, I pay road tax, but hardly I see any good roads. I pay municipal tax, but shit is thrown at my face everytime I enter a govt office. Why is this happening? Please advise if stealing is the best way to earn less without paying taxes and then enjoying life?
