Piramal Capital & Housing Finance, a subsidiary of Piramal Enterprises Limited, has sanctioned a ~INR 200 crore facility to the Appaswamy Group (Appaswamy) via a structured equity transaction to enable the acquisition of 3.34 acres (~60 grounds) land in Kotturpuram, the heart of Chennai. Amazing how a Mumbai based Nbfc has gone and got business from right under the nose of Cholamandalam Investment, Sundaram Finance, Equitas, ….amazing. Either the deal was too big for Equitas – any way they have got a deal..

Appaswamy is one of the largest developers in Chennai and has completed more than 10mn sq. ft. till date. Appaswamy acquired this land parcel on River View Road, Kotturpuram, from the TVH Group. The company plans to develop a premium residential project with potential sales revenue totaling in excess of INR1000 crore.

  2. I think he expected more people to censure him on this post.
    Because of the respect we have for him, we didn’t.
    Even I waited for more than a day to comment, thinking may be this was some hacking or some software error.

    Now this is how our beliefs and reality clashes, not just in this blog but in finance, politics and life in general.

    But do you still think PEL is value buy at CMP, considering their exposure to NBFC sector?
