There are some of the following questions for which I am not able to answer. In the sense that there are just too many answers, and what suits you is something that I am not able to find out. So here are the questions.

  1. What is MY ideal asset allocation?
  2. Till what age should I be invested in equities?
  3. I have X Rs. how should I do a STP so that I am SURE that this money lasts till my end?
  4. What is a safe withdrawal rate in India – in USA it is 4% p.a. I hear?
  5. Is it safe for me to retire at the age of 60 years?
  6. Is Indexing distorting the market?
  7. Are bad companies in the indexing bribing their stay therein?
  8. Does ULIP make sense for some investors at least?
  9. For a MF salesman does Alpha, Beta, Portfolio turnover really matter?
  10. Does everybody really need Term Life Insurance?
  11. Stock picking is a loser’s game
  12. Stock picking is a brilliant profession
  13. Indexing does not work in India, right?
  14. How do I allocate between Large cap, Midcap, and small cap funds?
  15. Should I invest in bonds instead of Bond funds?
  16. Do I need to invest in foreign equity?
  17. Should I invest in Emerging Market equities?

Sure, there are more such questions. I keep wondering what to say….

  1. There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers to such questions. Answers can vary with respect to the context and perception of the seeker.

    On the retirement day (or soon therafter ) one gets lump sum amount in the form of gratuity ,leave encashment and provident fund (if no prefinal withdrawal was made).
    Do you say it is Good ?
    Well the lump sum amount is several times the monthly SIP amount . In my case it was ,more tham 300 times my monthly SIP.
    Can anyone tell me what should be the period of deploying my retirement proceeds via MF SIPs ?!!
    I eventually made 12 month SIP and got away with it.Looking back I am aghast at my audacity
