Somebody sent me this…and it is a source I trust.

Rarely do I put non finance stuff on the blog…but this is relevant I guess:

Here are some bad habits which cause damage to the brain:

No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

Overeating
Overeating causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.

Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered will increase the concentration of CO2 (carbon-di-oxide) and decrease the concentration of O2 (Oxygen) that may lead to the brain damaging effects.

Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

  1. Dr Mohammed Ali Khan

    Dear Subra
Can you please post the advice that a Homeopathy Dr once gave you 30 years ago and which has kept you since in good health.. It will be very useful for us..

  2. It is simple – when I sat in a/c rooms with stale tobacco smoke and had a soft drink, I got headaches. This he realised by painful questioning, and a keen observation spirit. He said just stay out of such situation! Small changes in diet (do not remember what), he suggested some yoga (but I did not do it honestly). He taught me to read signals from the body – easy but it has to be done. Frankly nothing more ‘valuable’ as somebody would say…but it worked for me.

  3. Nice article Subra, I do cover my head while sleeping. Guess i will have to change that .. thanks for eyeopening
