Today is the birthday of Mr. Jamsetji N Tata who was born on 3rd March at Navsari, Gujarat. In 1919 Lord Chelmsford named the city Jamshedpur, in honour of its founder, whose birthday is celebrated on 3rd March as Founder’s Day.

People know so much about this great man that there is no point in writing anything more about him – which will anyway be only a cut paste job :).

So let this post be a reminder of this great man’s birthday …and FOUNDERS DAY – He really founded India’s industry :). Steel, auto, banking, Mills (remember Nagpur Mills changing names to Empress Mills to impress the Queen?), software, airlines (Indra Gandhi is solely responsible in destroying this great airline to be an errand boy of the aviation ministry)….so not just the Tata Group, but all of us can celebrate this as as ‘Founders’ Day.
